Mrs. Sally Miller, pictured above with Mrs. Susan Ferguson Nova's General Manager, joined Nova Contract Cleaners in 1998 as Mobile Quality Co-ordinator with nine years previous experience in the cleaning industry. She is a trained BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Science) assessor, Internal Auditor and Staff Trainer. In November 1999 she was promoted to Operations Manager for the Dorset area and has recently also taken over the Hampshire Area.

Sally monitors and instructs her team of Contracts Managers to ensure all Nova's sites conform to the ISO9002 British Quality Standard, which Nova has been accredited with since 1992. Relevant information is then passed to Lorraine Kear, Nova's Quality Co-ordinator, who is responsible for the organization and collation of all quality documentation.

After your initial contact with Nova, either by telephone on 0800 0560618 or by E-mail at sales@nova-cleaners.co.uk, we will carry out a comprehensive survey of your premises to enable us to prepare a detailed specification and best value quotation, at no charge to yourselves. All specifications are tailor made to the individual clients cleaning requirements and will include method statements for all tasks required, including one off periodic work.


Start up Procedure

One month prior to Contract Commencement (or two weeks by prior negotiation)
The Operations Manager will visit your site and interview supervisor and cleaning operatives. All equipment and materials to be ordered.

Two Weeks Prior to Contract Commencement
Nova management will liaise with appointed company representative.

One Week Prior to Contract Commencement
All staff details are to be collected for Nova head offices salaries department. Date and time to be agreed for materials and equipment delivery. ISO 9002: 1994 to be set up for supervisor training.

Day One, Two and Three
Nova's Operations Manager and Quality Co-ordinator will train Supervisor in ISO 9002: 1994 quality procedures. Nova's management to be on hand to ensure the smooth running of the changeover.

Quality Check Procedure

Nova are committed to continuous improvement, and endeavor to build up partnerships and good working relationships with all our clients and staff. To support this commitment we are accredited with ISO 9002, which is an essential platform from which we can build on the quality service we provide for our clients.

All supervisors and operatives are trained by senior management and focus on a proactive approach to the management of the contract. Quality programmes are designed for each individual contract, with daily checks carried out by the on-site Supervisor and monthly audits carried out by Contract Managers and Operations Managers.

Holiday Cover

Nova Contract Cleaners employ mobile cleaning crews to assist our Contract Managers with the holiday and sickness cover, therefore providing the client with continuity of service.

Health and Safety

Materials, equipment and Nova's systems of work all conform to the requirements of the Health and Safety Act 1974. Technical data sheets and COSHH assessments are held on all sites and the cleaning operatives are fully trained to make a positive contribution to the health and safety aspects of their working procedure. All senior management are trained to recognize potential problems and deal effectively with all situations.

Uniforms

All cleaning operatives are provided with Nova uniforms that display the company name and logo. Photographic security passes can be provided if required.

Training

Nova implements an extensive training scheme comprising internal and external courses in customer care, cleaning techniques, ISO 9002, and health and safety. Senior managers also receive training on risk assessments, internal auditing, man management and employment law.

Cleaning Products

Only products of the highest quality are used on Nova managed sites. Colour coded mops, buckets and cloths are provided to avoid the risk of cross contamination. All bottles containing cleaning products are screen printed and technical data sheets are available on all sites. We are constantly making improvements to our product range and full tests and trials are carried out before products are made widely available. Where possible Nova will use products that are CFC free and kinder to the environment.
