Nova Contract Cleaners was established in 1968 by partners Desmond Hulland and Michael Janson-Smith they concentrated the business mainly within the Bournemouth area. To provide clients with a larger scope of services a Window Cleaning division and Specialist Carpet Cleaning service was set up.

Once the partners had gained the necessary operational experience they expanded into the Hampshire area and gained many large contracts, which now include Norwich Union Healthcare and Rechem Shanks.

In 1986 we were successful in gaining the contract for Bournemouth University (formerly Dorset Institute), which we have recently retained for a further two years against heavy competition, at an annual revenue of over £300,000. Nova Contract Cleaning currently has contracts with Poole Borough Council, Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth and Southampton City Council.

In 1992 Nova Contract Cleaning gained BS5750 now ISO9002 British Quality Standards and were one of the first contract cleaners in the country to be accredited.

A Special Projects division was set up in the early part of 1996 to carry out specialist services, including Kitchen Cleaning, High Level Cleaning, Floor Maintenance, Builders Cleans and Ducting Cleaning. This division has proved very successful and contracts have been completed for the Ministry of Defence, Her Majesty's Prison Service and many other clients.

After management restructuring Mrs Susan Ferguson took over as General Manager. Mrs Ferguson has been employed by Nova Contract Cleaning for eight years and has worked in all aspects of our company including Office Management, Operations, Sales and Marketing. Mrs Ferguson is committed to increasing Nova's profile ensuring that all Nova's clients receive a quality service that represents best value for money.
